MobileGov Workshop: Help Expand the Mobile User Experience Guidelines

MobileGov Workshop: Help Expand the Mobile User Experience Guidelines

August 4 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

While there is a lot of great mobile development in the federal government, agencies need to make sure their apps and mobile websites don’t become one of the estimated billions of applications that end up in the app graveyard—never to be opened, let alone used again. In order to help agencies avoid the app graveyard, the MobileGov Community of Practice, released more than 40 guidelines and recommendations last year. However, mobile development is ever changing and it is time we revisited these guidelines and recommendations. At this event we’ll take some current federal apps and see how they stack up against these guidelines. We want your input on next steps and we’re partnering with some good friends—Federal User Experience Community to do it. Come join the (UX) and MobileGov Communities of Practice as we revisit and further the development of mobile UX guidelines for government!

Social media is transforming how government engages with citizens and how it delivers service. Analysis of this social data is critical not just for agency communication offices—but also for program managers at every level of your organization. In this session, Sarah Kaczmarek from GAO will share her own experience creating a social media metrics report based on the Federal Social Media Community of Practice baseline metrics. She will also talk about how she uses Google Analytics to gather metrics on depth, loyalty, and social media campaigns. Sarah will share a new infographic template she's developed to share the highlights of a year's worth of social media metrics data. She will also show you how to adapt the infographic to share your own social media metrics report with managers and stakeholders throughout your organization.
